What is the role?
The role of the Veterinary Services Call Handler is to help both our clients and prospective clients to access our veterinary services, mainly through phone calls but also email and potentially webchat. Our Veterinary Services Call Handling team is a fast-paced environment where our Call Handlers respond and manage a high volume of calls.

About you
To succeed in this role, you will need the ability to listen carefully to the details of every call and communicate clearly and calmly to put people at ease and quickly build rapport with callers. Empathy and great customer service skills are required. The person will also be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment handling a high volume of calls. You will enjoy working as part of your immediate team and will make efforts to engage with the wider Blue Cross. The person will be hard working, efficient, reliable, and work in a way which reflects our values and culture. The ideal candidate for this role will be someone with a real desire to help both people and animals.

You will have
• Experience of call handling in a work environment i.e working in a call centre
• Experience of providing great customer service
• The ability to communicate well (both verbally and written)
• A good level of IT literacy and using Microsoft 365 products (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint.)
• The ability to stay calm under pressure
• Problem solving skills
• Experience of working as part of a team
• Ability to demonstrate, understanding and apply our Blue Cross values

It would also be great if you had:
• Experience of handling challenging customer situations with empathy and a calm manner
• Experience of handling complaints
• Knowledge of using CRM/database systems
• Knowledge of the charity and voluntary sector
