How Webrecruit helped the non-profit organisation to attract commercial talent, whilst driving internal efficiencies.

The Company

 

Spectrum Housing Group is a non-profit organisation, which owns and manages c18,000 homes and maintains a further 45,000 across the South of England.

The Challenge

 

Kevin Barnard, HR Business Partner (Recruitment) approached Webrecruit seeking a solution that would not only attract the right candidates, but that would be supported by recruitment technology and would seamlessly integrate with his processes.

His team already had an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) in place, which had been adapted to suit its internal workflows, however, it wasn’t fit for purpose – it wasn’t easy to use, it didn’t integrate correctly with the careers page, and it required a significant amount of maintenance from the in-house IT team on a weekly basis.

Additionally, the team was seeking a partner to manage their advertising contracts as well as the technology provision, giving them one point of invoice, one account manager and continuity of service.

The Solution

 

Webrecruit built an effective relationship with Kevin and the team that involved implementing an ATS, but also customising it in a way that would fit seamlessly within existing workflows and allow them to identify opportunities to improve existing areas.

It was found that the system, in order to be suited to attracting commercial candidates, required bespoke changes that would make it simpler for these applicants to apply.

From a candidate attraction point of view, advertising needed to complement Kevin’s desire to make the function more commercial and as such, attract a new type of candidate to its vacancies.

The Results

 

Through its partnership with Webrecruit, Spectrum Housing Group went on to achieve the following:

  • A unified recruitment solution, which allowed them to control costs and activity
  • An integrated ATS which made the team more productive
  • Improved employer branding via Twitter and Facebook
  • Reporting to inform decision making and integrate within advertising decisions
