How Webrecruit helped the successful IT business to attract technical candidates while competing with the neighbouring capital city.

The Company

 

Since its inception in June 2001, RivaNET has grown to become a leading technology provider in the UK, specialising in the education sector. Their mission is to provide solutions that both enhance the learning experience and streamline administrative processes. This approach has led them to become the trusted ICT partner to over 140 schools and colleges in the UK.

The Challenge

 

RivaNET’s recruitment is entirely managed by Commercial Director, Sanjay Sood. Prior to approaching Webrecruit, the company used local advertising services to attract candidates in the Leatherhead area.

Sanjay explained that, due to the nature of the business, a large portion of the vacancies that RivaNET recruits for are IT roles, which are notoriously difficult to fill, particularly on the outskirts of ultra-competitive London.

Additionally, recruitment isn’t something that traditionally falls under a Commercial Director’s remit; therefore Sanjay found himself with only about half an hour per day to sign off new vacancies, arrange advertising, sift through CVs and arrange interviews. As such, maximising the time that he did have was a huge priority for him.

Sometimes we’d receive over 300 applications for a vacancy and some of those candidates could be completely wrong for the role. Sometimes we would end up with only three or four relevant CVs.”

The Solution

 

RivaNET used Webrecruit’s fixed-fee recruitment solution to recruit for multiple roles, including IT Support Engineers, Systems Engineers, AV Commissioning Engineers and IT Sales Consultants.

Webrecruit enabled RivaNET to gain greater exposure to a wider pool of candidates through multiple advertising sources and targeted job adverts, to reduce the chance of unsuitable candidates applying.

I liked Webrecruit’s solution because it was convenient – I could easily put our adverts out onto multiple boards without having to manage the multiple job board contracts myself.”

Additionally, Webrecruit’s CV filtering service ensured that only candidates who meet each role’s criteria were sent over to Sanjay to review. This ensured that his time was spent reviewing only the relevant applications that meet RivaNET’s needs.
